A white paper composed by some of Allied’s sales and service representatives from India was awarded first place for technical papers in the August 2017 issue of Indian Foundry Journal. The paper discusses the history of and advancements in conventional silica-based refractories, then takes an in-depth look at a new generation of products for coreless furnaces that enhances performance. Successful use of these new refractory mixes in two foundries are summarized. Product optimization and care of various components of coreless induction furnaces is also covered.

The Indian Foundry Journal is a publication by the Institute of Indian Foundrymen and is intended to highlight advancements in foundry industry technology and solutions.
